What is nutritional therapy?

In nutritional therapy, we use a science-based approach to identify the underlying causes of your health concerns. Then we work together to develop a plan that supports your body’s innate ability to solve these problems itself. 

Nutritional Therapy is based on the five pillars of health, all of which are built on the foundation of a nutrient-dense, whole-foods diet: digestion, blood sugar regulation, fatty acid balance, mineral balance, and hydration. These are where all wellness starts and where our work together will begin.

As a Functional Nutritional Therapy Practitioner (FNTP), Jessica works to create a bio-individual plan for each client, taking into account their health history, current status, and goals. She is here to educate and motivate, but the client is in control of how quickly the process moves. 

Along with personalized nutritional input and education, Jessica uses muscle testing, hair tissue mineral analysis, and functional blood chemistry analysis to really dig into each client’s health status. This allows her to support the body at a deeper level and help bring it back into balance more quickly.

Will nutritional therapy help me lose weight?

Jessica and the team understand that healthy bodies come in all shapes and sizes, and they want you to be able to access the nutrition services that you need regardless of your age, body type, or physical ability. 

Optimal Health also understands that dieting is often unsuccessful. Many individuals who lose weight using diets end up gaining most, all, or even more weight than they lost initially. 

Proper nutrition allows you to make meaningful improvements to your health and wellbeing by focusing on what matters most.

 Often, as health improves and inflammation goes down, we do see some weight loss. While we don't see this as a primary goal, it can be a welcome side effect.
